How to search?

Select "Search" in the main menu. Make sure you select the correct language or language combination before you start typing a search term. Clue starts searching as soon as you type a letter in the search field, and the word is often found before you have finished entering it.

Pronunciation

Tap on the sound icon to the left of the entry word to hear the pronunciation. Make sure your phone’s audio settings are not on silent.

Change language

You can change languages in the "Search" page by tapping on the drop down arrow. If you want to add or remove any languages here, go to "Languages" in the main menu to change the settings.

Switch language direction

You can switch language direction in the "Search" page by tapping on the arrows to the right of the selected languages. For example, if you have selected the Norwegian-English dictionary, you switch to English-Norwegian with one tap.

Use Clue in offline mode

You can download dictionaries to use these in offline mode. Go to "Languages" in the main menu. By tapping the various bilingual and monolingual dictionaries you are given the opportunity to download the dictionary for offline mode access. In order to use the dictionary offline, go to your user profile in the main menu and activate "Offline mode".

Most searched words

You can see an overview of your most searched words by selecting "My top 10 searches". These are clickable and take you directly to the dictionary entry. This is only possible in the online mode.

User settings

In your user profile in the main menu, you can change for example your name and password. You can also choose to use the dictionary in offline mode.

Main menu

To view the main menu, swipe to the right or tap the menu icon in the top left corner.

News

Under "News" you get current information about Clue App.

Copy words

You can copy entry words by tapping and holding the desired word.

Change menu language

In your user profile in the main menu, you can change the menu language (Norwegian or English).

Change colours

Under "Settings" -> "Change colour codes", you can change the various colours used for grammar.

Feedback

Under "Feedback" you can suggest new words and phrases, additional use of existing entries or alternative spellings, and can provide other feedback on the content of Clue.

Select languages in the dictionary

If you do not want to view the entire collection of languages in the search page you can select which language you require in the “Languages” page.
